How does Lana differentiate?

At Lana, we only source the finest Australian sheepskins that we would personally use for our family and home. We do not use any other wool apart from Australian A grade wool, the highest grade of wool worldwide. Our strict quality control ensures that we take the utmost care in choosing the finest products to bring to you (having years of expertise doesn't hurt either!).

Can I only use sheepskins during winter?

Contrary to popular belief, wool is particularly good at keeping your body warm in winter and cool in summer! That's because those pockets of air can cool you down, drawing moisture away from your body and into the fibres themselves. It's definitely something to be used all year round.

CARING FOR YOUR LANA PRODUCTS

How do I clean a sheepskin rug naturally?

The natural waxy coating on wool's fibres (lanolin) resists soiling and releases dirt easily, so its actually super easy to keep it clean:

  • Vacuum once a week, using a plain suction unit
  • Regularly shake outside
  • Spot clean small spills promptly with a damp cloth

To make your rug go even further, avoid excessive direct sunlight as UV can damage and cause fading over time.

How long do sheepskin rugs last?

One of the best things you will love about your new Lana sheepskin rug is its durability. Simply follow the recommended care routine and you'll be able to enjoy your rug for many years to come.

My rug is shedding, what do I do?

A  newly purchased rug might experpeice a small amount of shedding in the first month or so, (especially with long wool fibres). Don't fret, it's all normal and all you need to do is vacuum and shake regularly. The wool fibres will settle in time.
